Founding and Early Achievements

Established in 1990 by a coalition of residents and business owners, the Echo Park Security Association (EPSA) emerged as a vital organization dedicated to enhancing safety and quality of life in both Echo Park and Angelino Heights. By collaborating closely with city officials and police, EPSA played a significant role in reducing crime rates and fostering a safer environment for everyone in the community.

Security Patrol: Visibility and Community Service

The most recognizable aspect of EPSA's efforts was its security patrol. Through the dedicated work of patrol members in Echo Park and Angelino Heights, the patrol served as a strong deterrent against criminal activity. In addition to crime prevention, the patrol actively reported issues affecting daily life, such as illegal dumping and graffiti. Initially, coverage was limited to weekends, but as community membership increased, EPSA expanded patrols to include nightly and weekday services, adapting to the growing needs of the neighborhood.

Collaboration with Select Patrol

For more than two decades, Select Patrol partnered closely with EPSA members, working to further improve living conditions in Echo Park and Angelino Heights. Their ongoing collaboration contributed to sustained progress in community safety and well-being. Today, there is a renewed interest in dedicated services from Select Patrol, reflecting the community's continued commitment to maintaining a safe and vibrant neighborhood.

The New Initiative

Select Patrol is now ready to once again offer dedicated overnight coverage, specifically from Friday to Sunday, 11:00PM to 5:00AM. This renewed commitment aims to address the most critical hours for community safety and provide peace of mind for residents.

For a monthly fee of $33.00, billed quarterly, residents can ensure that a Select Patrol vehicle is consistently present on their street and throughout Echo Park. This affordable plan enables the community to benefit from enhanced safety and regular patrol services.
